作者簡介：

劉詠聰，香港浸會大學歷史系教授、系主任，曾任美國國務院富布萊特訪問學人暨波士頓東北大學歷史系客座教授。作者主要從事中國性別史研究，著有《女性與歷史：中國傳統觀念新探》（1993）、《中國古代的育兒》（1997）、《德才色權：論古代中國女性》（1998），編有《中國婦女傳記辭典（清代卷）》（Biographical Dictionary of Chinese Women: The Qing Period，英文版1998；中文版2010)、Windows on the Chinese World: Reflections by Five Historians（2009）、Overt and Covert Treasures: Essays on the Sources for Chinese Women’s History（2012）、《性別視野中的中國歷史新貌》（2012）等書；另撰有中外學術期刊及專集論文六十余篇。作者學術自傳見于《智慧的出場：當代人文女學者側影》（謝玉娥編，2013）及A Journey into Women’s Studies: Crossing Interdisciplinary Boundaries (ed. Rekha Pande, 2014)。
